I hope you don’t mind, but I have a few more of these old mail-delivery videos to post. All three (today and over the weekend) are from 1903.

In this one, mail bags are loaded onto waiting wagons, and one of the wagons drives away. Then, at about the 50-second mark, a smaller vehicle arrives and the driver and single horse expertly back it up to the loading dock …

.

… sort of.

This 1903 video shows a mail delivery vehicle waiting for bags of mail to be thrown off a passing streetcar in Washington, DC.

From the Library of Congress: a video clip of a rural mail wagon in 1903.

Either there’s a driver hiding in the front of the wagon, or those horses really know their job and their route!

As we all know, the Royal Ascot races in England are known for the ladies’ stylish, even outlandish, hats.

Here is a photo from this year’s installment, which took place last week: friend-of-the-CAA George Bowman, driving his team up High Street to Ascot.

That’s George’s daughter, Kathleen, seated next to him. Check out her fabulous hat!!

For everyone (me included) having a busy Monday: Here’s our moment of zen.

I took these photos one evening last week. They are both of the field across Ironworks Pike from the Kentucky Horse Park.
