This (originally silent) movie was made in Maine in 1930 by Alfred Ames. He wrote a script to accompany his movie, and it’s been read as a voice-over for this version.
Much of the movie covers the huge task of getting the logs down the river to the mill (which is fascinating … those men had some serious skill and balance!), but there are some horse-drawn scenes as well. Enjoy!
